This page dipicts the travels of Trindle
Lough Garadice on the Shannon Erne Waterway.
This page is not complete yet, {hope it will never be complete} save to say that since 1994 Trindle has travelled the length of the River Shannon many times, and as far north as Enniskillen, along the Grand Canal to Dublin City and out into the tidal stretches of the River Liffey, as well as venturing as far south as Ardnacrusha.
In late July last year we untied from our mooring on the River Barrow at
Graiguenamanagh and headed up stream on our return to Lowtown. I took advantage
of the chance to catch up on some painting, and general maintanence along the
way, {the painting was well overdue!!} Dispite our 2'10" draught and the
low waterlevels we encountered no major dificulties, and arrived in Lowtown five
days later.
In January this year I found Trindle almost ice bound in Lowtown, I
couldn't resist the temptation to go 'ice braking' and wow it was awesome, the
sound of those great sheets of ice collapsing under Trindle's weight. Yep I
enjoyed that!
